- I have been teaching for 12 years and really do like my chosen career. I find it both fun and challenging. For my education, I attended the County College of Morris, The School of Visual Arts in NYC, and Montclair State University. I have been married for 11 years and have one son, who is presently 2 1/2.

Many students come into the art classroom, thinking, art is fun, it's a time to relax and blow off a little steam; not realizing just how important learning about art and creating art is. Yes, teachers do want students to have fun in a fun class, yet, do not want students to lose focus on the importance the arts play in their everyday lives. Everything a student sees in the man made world has passed through the mind, hands and eyes of an artist. Just about everything was designed by an artist.
For example, Clothing = textile designer and fashion designer, your home = an architect, furnishings = a furniture designer. etc.
What the student learns in the primary and secondary grades are the foundations & building blocks of hundreds of careers in the fields of art. So,the next time you get dressed in the morning, think about the many people it took to design the clothing your wearing, or the artists that may have created the artwork hanging on the walls of your home. Or even the architect that sat down and designed the very house you live in. All these things, take a great deal of time to learn about. More than just the fun times you had in art class

I would say yes, that art is important in my life, along with practically everyone else's. According to Merriam-Webster's Collegiate Dictionary 10th Edition, art is defined as "the conscious use of skill and creative imagination especially in the production of aesthetic objects”. So without art there would be no creativity or imagination displayed physically. Every single man-made object would look exactly the same as the other, there would be no choice of how something looks; the world would just be one giant gray blob. Art allows everyone a chance to express their own creativity. Plus, without art, I probably wouldn’t even be typing this right now on this computer. So in general, art has created and shaped the world as we know it today.
Art as most people think of it is not really that important, but most people think in terms of paintings and sculptures, etc. But while things such as architecture and landscaping and making clothes are also art, most people, to a certain extent myself included, do not see it really as so, they think of them in a category all their own. So while yes, technically because everything is art (including nature) it must be important to me, but I think that since everything is art I should focus on art as know it most familiarly,paintings and such, which are not so important.
Yes, art is very important in my life. And yes, art is our clothing, the pictures on our walls, and the interior and exterior of our residence. Art is nearly everywhere! It allows people to use their creativity, which means, all art is unique. Art may also display thoughts and expression. Art and its artists are part of history, tradition, background, and culture.

Art is not inportant in my life because some day i don't what to be someone who does anything related to art. Because i dont like art class art. But then again art is inportant in my life because with out it we would have no colors on our walls or anything like that.
yes, art is important because with out it I wont have the cloths I am waring or the hous I live in and we all need those things to surve in life.

Art is important in my life but i'm not that interested in art because i'm not that artistic when it comes to painting and freedrawing. But without art i would not have the clothing i have. Finally without art i would lack a basic need to survive which is a HOUSE.
Yes art is important in my life and in others too. Art is how we express ourselves. When painting, blue can represent sadness and red or orange happiness. Music is art too. Fast music is is excited and slow music is sadness etc. etc. Without art we won't be able to speak out without words or express how we feel without saying anything.
It is important in my life because I think it is a cool way to learn about what was happening in that time. If the picture seems to be depressing you can tell that the artist, or the whole country, was going through hard times. We can learn a lot of history by looking at art. That is why i beleive art is important in my life.
Art is everywhere, and is in almost everything. It is very important to know about art. Art is very important for life. it is everywhere; all the cloths you where come from art. the world would be nothing without art!
I think art is important in our , but hte art i htink is important is art that is clothing, building, and everday things like that. I don't think art (like drawing) is important. that is just my view on it and i really don't like art that much.
Art is extremely important in my life. I use it as a way of expressing myself and am surrounded by it all the time. Things that people don't consider as art, like a house or clothing, really are art. More typical types of art, like paintings or pictures, hang in rooms. Lauren said before that all art is unique and she is right, it is and it means different things to everyone.

I never really thought of art that way before. If you did not have art or color the world would be black and white. Without art every one would not be an indivual.
Next time i put oon a designer shirt i will think about the person who tookm there time to design the shirt. Thats really what art is.
Yes i think art is important in our lives because without art, we'd have no blueprints for architects, or clothes, or even us. Movements are sometimes considered art. There'd be no video games either.....Or movies or any of the things we enjoy. So...yes. Art IS important in our lives.

art is important in your life i guess because you need clothes for warmth and the way your house is built.

Yes, I think that are is important in my life because almost everything in life is art. If I didn't have art then I would't really have anything in my house or anything in school.
Whether or not we realize it, art affects our lives. Everything we se is in some way related to art. Some things are just more related than others. Everything has color in some way, be it through hue, brightness, luster, or all three, and our recognition of that is how art affects our lives.
I think that art is important in my life because without art,I would not have a place to live in. Also,art is importatnt in my life because I need some art to survive, such as the clothes that I wear. Art also helps people express their individuality.

Art is definitely important in my life as it is to everyone else- whether they no this or not. Wihtout art we would not have clothes to wear, or a hosue to live in. Art also allows people to be creative and express themselves, and their feelings. If you think about it, art is pretty much everywhere.

Yes, art is important to me because life would be pretty boring it without it. You really wouldn't be able to express yourself in different ways without it.
Yes, art is important in the world because every piece of clothing you have must of been something someone put a lot of time into. Art is every where. Things would be boring,bland,dull, and not exciting. Art is very important. This blog has made me think a lot more about the importance of art and this years art class.
